What this is

Contracts, experience letters, salary proofs. The page does not constitute binding legal advice; for case-specific guidance, see our paid legal consultation service.

Why it matters for Pakistani applicants

Each Ukrainian procedure has a specific intersection with Pakistani documentation requirements — apostille via MoFA, HEC verification where applicable, sworn translation in Ukraine. Skipping any link in that chain produces refusal at the consular stage. This page describes the chain.

How we use this in practice

Our intake checklists reference this page directly. When we open a file, the steps described here are the steps we execute. Where the page is silent, we resolve case-by-case through the engagement.

The work permit application requires documents from both the Pakistani applicant and the Ukrainian employer. Understanding the two-sided nature of the document set is essential to avoiding delays.

From the Pakistani applicant: a valid passport (minimum 12 months remaining validity at time of application); educational certificates and transcripts relevant to the role, apostilled and translated; employment and experience letters from previous employers, apostilled and translated; a CV in English or Ukrainian aligned with the declared job role; Police Clearance Certificate from Pakistan, apostilled; medical certificate meeting Ukrainian requirements.

From the Ukrainian employer: an extract from the Unified State Register (EDR) confirming active status; the company charter and documents confirming the signatory's authority to execute contracts; a draft employment contract under the Ukrainian Labour Code; a written justification for selecting a foreign national for the role; confirmation that the proposed salary meets the statutory minimum for the role.

The employment contract must comply with Ukrainian labour law — a simple English-language contract from the employer's home jurisdiction is not acceptable. Key clauses include: probationary period (if any), salary in hryvnia, working hours, leave entitlement, and termination provisions. Our lawyers review and redline contracts as part of the work permit service.

A common mistake is submitting a CV that does not align with the stated role. If the work permit is for a software engineer position and the CV reflects only general administrative work, the State Employment Service will question the basis. Consistency between all documents is essential.

Documents must be current. A PCC older than 6 months may be queried. Employment letters must be dated within a reasonable period of the application. Ask your lawyer to confirm the recency requirements for each document type before collection.
